Swinburne ArtHub is a club dedicated to art appreciation and production; including literature, cinematography, visual arts and any additional story telling elements. We primarily focus on creating a casual environment in which students with similar interests may hang out with each other. Additionally, this society provides to its members excursions, small workshops and fun competitions.
Excursions
Excursions are external events that aim to enrich our knowledge and develop taste in a social manner. Examples of excursions would be photography/art walks, gallery visits, movie screenings, and arts festivals.
Workshops
Workshops are external/internal events that aim to introduce and further develop artistic skills. Examples of potential workshop topics could be animation, night-time photography, drawing portraits, digital art, creating concept characters, using photoshop/illustrator etc. Workshops can be facilitated by either staff, external sponsors or students. This will provide Swinburne art students the opportunity to develop their leadership and teaching skills.
Competitions
We occasionally hold competitions to encourage club members to challenge themselves with the incentive to win some artsy prizes!
Creative/Social Time
Creative time occurs twice a week on Friday at 4.30pm - 7.30pm in TB220 at Swinburne's Hawthorn Campus. Here, students are free to socialise and create in a casual environment; everyone is free to attend as much as they like and not necessarily for the full duration of the event. The goal of this is to create a relaxed environment where students are free to work on any personal/university/work related projects, learn tips/tricks from peers, and make friends with fellow creatives.
